Highlights:
Welcome & Community Events:
We wrapped up 2025 with a fantastic Christmas Concert, smooth class parties, a successful Cherry Drive and a well-run Year 6 Farewell. Thank you to our Year 1 families for hosting Tea & Tissues. Our Welcome BBQ will be held this week with face painting, Dippin’ Dots and a BBQ — please stop by the P&C stand to learn more or join our helper pool.
Our draft Events Calendar is shaping up to be a big and exciting year — but a reminder that events can only go ahead with volunteer support. We are always open to new ideas and helping hands.
The Enrichment Tree Fundraiser is now live and, with current departmental budget cuts, donations are more important than ever.
Upcoming highlights include our parent Paint & Sip Social (no artistic talent required!), Easter treats for students, ice blocks at Cross Country, and a Mother’s Day Stall (coordinated by Year 1 and 4 families).
Major fundraisers include the Athletics Carnival BBQ (pending Band confirmation), Bunnings BBQ & Cake Stall (16 May), Trivia Night – 20 June (Disney theme, optional dress-ups!), a returning Comedy Night, Family Putt Putt Social, a Father’s Day event (Years 2 & 3), our much-loved Halloween Family Fun Fair (a key fundraiser seeking volunteers from every year level), and a possible Colour Run (TBC).
Looking ahead, we will again host the Year 6 Farewell (10 December) — a committee of current Year 5 parents is needed, with ticketing to continue this year. The Christmas BBQ with Band and Cherry Drive will also return.
We are also exploring more year-level social events (Years 3–6) to strengthen community connection and collaboration across the school year.
Canteen Update:
Student Pay Plus has launched successfully, and we thank our wonderful team for managing the transition so smoothly. The menu has been streamlined to support staffing levels, and there are no major price changes at this stage. The canteen will open for the Swimming Carnival (limited menu) and has some fun treats planned for Harmony Day and Easter. We are still seeking volunteers, along with a Canteen Treasurer and Secretary.
Uniform Shop:
The shop has had a very busy start to the year with strong online orders. It is now fully cashless, and a small service fee applies to Square purchases. Due to supplier increases, prices have risen slightly. Thank you to the volunteers who keep everything running so efficiently.
Band Program:
The band finished 2025 on a high with a successful Country to Coast tour and Christmas Concert. In 2026, 110 students are participating across four bands — a fantastic start to the year. Band Camp planning is well underway, and the program ended 2025 with a $2.7K surplus. We are seeking volunteers to shadow key roles for 2027 to support continuity.
Treasurer’s Report:
We have returned to a calendar financial year, finalised Q4 compliance, and moved to CBA as our primary bank. Expenses are down compared to the same time last year, although staffing and insurance costs have increased.
Principal’s Report:
TPS has commenced 2026 with 515 students across 20 mainstream classes and one support class. NAPLAN will take place in March, and Stage 3 Camp has been rescheduled to 18–20 May. New fencing installation is nearing completion, and work is underway on the new School Vision. Due to Department policy changes, the school can no longer invoice for music programs, with the P&C assisting in managing collections.
Motions Passed:
The P&C approved funding for:
$20,000 towards school technology
$3,800 to support the Y-Safe E-Safety program
$1,000 for staffroom supplies
$50 per teacher for classroom stickers
$100 per K–2 class to support social events
Next Meeting (AGM): Wednesday 13 May 2026

Highlights:
Enrolments & School Promotion:
A key focus this term was the importance of maintaining strong school enrolments, with student numbers directly impacting staffing, funding and school programs. Families were encouraged to help positively promote TPS within the local community and share the many strengths of our school, including learning support, wellbeing programs, music, extracurricular opportunities and our strong community culture.
P&C Funding & Support:
The P&C continues to play a vital role in supporting programs, technology and resources across the school. The Enrichment Tree fundraiser raised over $6,000 for classroom resources, with reminders that many initiatives and enrichment opportunities at TPS are made possible through P&C fundraising and volunteer support.
Volunteers & Sustainability:
Volunteer sustainability remains one of the biggest challenges facing schools and P&Cs across NSW. TPS continues to operate valuable services including our five-day canteen, band program, uniform shop and major community events — all heavily reliant on volunteers. Discussions focused on how to make volunteering more flexible and manageable for busy families and how we can better engage the broader school community.
Learning & Student Support:
The Principal highlighted continued growth in student wellbeing and learning support programs, with Learning Support Officer funding now supporting 14 staff across the school — a significant increase from previous years. TPS continues to strengthen support systems for students requiring additional learning and wellbeing assistance.
Initial NAPLAN data is showing pleasing Year 3 to Year 5 growth, with further analysis to come later in the term.
Canteen & Uniform Shop:
A significant focus this term has been stabilising canteen operations following a challenging transition period involving new systems, staffing changes and equipment failures. Despite fridge/freezer breakdowns, power outages and stock losses, the canteen has continued operating five days a week — something many schools are no longer able to offer.
The P&C thanked Hannah, Kylie and the broader canteen team for their enormous efforts, while also acknowledging the urgent need for more volunteers and long-term sustainability planning.
The Uniform Shop continues to perform strongly, with online ordering remaining very popular.
Events & Fundraising:
Thank you to everyone involved in recent events including the Welcome BBQ, Easter Treats, Paint & Sip Social, Mother’s Day Stall and Band Camp fundraiser.
Upcoming events include:
• Disney Trivia Night
• Bunnings BBQs
• Comedy for a Cause
• Halloween Spooktacular
Band Program:
Band Camp was highly successful, with 108 students attending and fantastic parent volunteer support across the weekend. Planning is now underway for upcoming performances, competitions and the 2026 Band Tour.
Grant Applications & Future Planning:
The P&C is continuing to pursue larger strategic funding opportunities, including Federal Volunteer Grants and the NSW Community Building Partnership Grant program, to help support future school and community projects.
Motions Passed:
The P&C approved funding for:
$25 per head for Year 6 Farewell Dinner
Budget of $16k for Halloween Spooktacular event - The P&C also approved planning for the new Halloween Spooktacular, designed as a major whole-school community fundraiser supporting future school initiatives and projects.
Next Meeting : Wednesday 12 August 2026 with Rescheduled AGM to be advised.
